Objective: Represent a creature using fundamental design elements to convey a specified set of unique physical, behavioral, and personality traits. Develop a brand identity surrounding the animal marks' traits and characteristics.
Stage One: Animal Mark
In the first stage, we were tasked with designing a creature mark using geometric elements that capture the essence of the chosen creature. I decided to base my design on a lion.
Research
Through my research, I concluded that my creature mark should convey a lion's fierce and protective nature while also showcasing the beauty and elegance of a lion's confidence.
Sketching
By sketching out multiple poses and focusing on portraying a lion's protective nature, I determined that a lion roaring would be the most effective pose in displaying the characteristics throughout my creature mark.

In the iteration process, I focused on making my creature mark through geometric construction and concentrated on figure-ground reversal throughout the lion's mane and body.

For stage two of this project, we were challenged to intertwine a phrase and our creature mark together to create a typographic composition that expresses the characteristics of our chosen creature mark. My phrase was "fierce and strong composure; rumbling roar; lion.

Stage Three: Building a Brand
To push this project even further, I challenged myself to build a brand around the animal mark I created. Inspired by the fierce confidence of the create mark I created, I developed a set of brand guidelines for a brand called "RUMBLE."
Brainstorming
As someone who has struggled to find representation through sportswear, I was inspired to bring change to the sportswear market through my animal mark and developed an activewear brand that focuses directly on building the consumer's inner strength.

Wordmark Exploration
After an analysis of the current sportswear market and identifying the lack of athleisure that promote confidence and inner-strength, I asked; "How can we incorporate a lion creature mark into a brand that uplifts athletic young adults in the US today?"
I came up with the RUMBLE brand, which encourages consumers to "dare to be you," inspiring its audience to take charge of their self-love journey and to challenge others to do the same.
